Job summary

MedTrainer is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - AI to design, build, and operate LLM-powered features and internal AI tooling for healthcare compliance. You will move capabilities from prototype to production using LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, and agentic workflows while ensuring cost efficiency, security, and HIPAA awareness.

Work is 100% remote from anywhere in Mexico. Collaboration with Product, DevOps, and Data/IT teams is required to define success metrics and drive AI best practices across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• 1+ year building/operating LLM-powered features.
• Structured Agile/Scrum development experience.
• Advanced English skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship LLM-powered features in the MedTrainer platform.
• Develop RAG pipelines with embeddings, vector search, and citations.
• Create agents and internal AI tooling to automate processes.
• Own eval datasets, automated tests, and LLM judging for quality.
• Develop Python services and APIs; deploy with Docker/Kubernetes and GitHub Actions.
• Ensure HIPAA-aware data handling and responsible AI practices.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data/IT teams to align success metrics.
