Ford Motor Company in Mexico seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer focused on selective soldering of PCBA power electronics. You will develop, validate, and sustain robust soldering processes, lead installation and ramp-up, and own safety and quality documentation.

You will analyze defects with AOI/AXI, perform cross-section analysis, drive DOE and process validation, and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to improve yield and process stability.

Formación

• Proven experience in selective soldering processes for PCBA manufacturing (Ersa preferred).
• Strong understanding of soldering fundamentals, heat transfer and defect mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning and ramp-up.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing safety practices (thermal, chemicals/flux, ESD).
• Hands-on cross-sectioning and solder joint analysis including intermetallic evaluation.
• Experience using AOI and AXI for process validation and defect detection.
• Experience developing PFMA/PFMEA, DCP and Control Plans for soldering.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7095).
• Laboratory equipment experience: precision cutting, diamond saws, mounting/polishing.
• DOE/process window optimization and capability/yield improvement.
• Ability to troubleshoot using inspection data and implement corrective actions.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, optimize, and maintain selective soldering processes to ensure high yield.
• Lead equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp-up to production.
• Define and control critical process parameters (fluxing, preheating, nozzle, etc.).
• Ensure safety compliance during installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Analyze and resolve soldering defects and perform root-cause analysis.
• Perform cross-sectioning and solder joint analysis to evaluate intermetallics and defects.
• Plan NPI cuts ensuring representative sampling of critical joints.
• Utilize AOI/AXI to validate soldering quality and correlate with physical analysis.
• Plan/process validate activities: DOE, process window, capability studies, PPAP support.
• Maintain PFMA/PFMEA, DCP, and Control Plans; own related documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement for defect reduction, yield, and stability.
