Job summary

QAD Inc. is seeking a Sr. Support Engineer, MO for a fully remote role based in Mexico.

You will diagnose and resolve complex issues in QAD and Progress databases, perform DBA tasks, and drive high‑quality support across global customers. Collaboration with R&D and Product Management is essential, along with training material development. You will handle installations, upgrades, configurations, and 24/7 coverage, including shift rotations and potential on‑call work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise products with strong customer focus.
• English at C1 level is required.
• Proven ability to manage high‑priority cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting Unix, Windows, network environments.
• Programming knowledge in C, C++, Unix scripting, and Progress for issue resolution.
• Expertise in Progress DBA tasks: backups, optimization, performance monitoring.
• Strong Linux skills and SQL for queries and troubleshooting.
• Experience with QAD product installation, configuration, and administration.
• QAD PKS or similar certifications are a plus.
• Hands-on ERP support including installation, upgrade, and configuration of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues for QAD and Progress products.
• Ensure installations, upgrades, and configurations are performed smoothly.
• Perform Progress DBAs tasks like backups and optimization.
• Document issues and resolutions for global training materials.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management and other teams for effective solutions.
• Create and share training content focusing on advanced troubleshooting.
• Support a 24/7 operation with shift rotations, weekend duties, and on‑call coverage.
