Job summary

Ziff Davis is seeking an HR Data & Compliance Analyst to transform raw HR data into audit-ready outputs and maintain dashboards across HCM, payroll, recruiting, and finance systems. You will partner with HR Systems, HR Partners, and Legal to implement controls and address data quality for regulatory reporting.

The role is remote-hybrid, with potential in-office work periods, and reports to the Sr. Manager, HR Compliance & Analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years in HR analytics, HRIS, HR compliance, or people data operations.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivots, data cleaning).
Hands-on experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or a native HCM analytics tool.
Working knowledge of US employment compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
Experience with enterprise HCM like ADP, Workday, or UKG, and an ATS.
High attention to detail and discretion handling confidential employee and compensation data.

Responsibilities

Build, refresh, and maintain HR dashboards connecting HR data across systems with role-based security and user guides.
Validate dashboard outputs against source systems and document metric definitions and data lineage.
Prepare monthly and quarterly workforce reporting suites (headcount, hires, terminations, attrition, span of control).
Test and tune NLP/AI query tools and maintain metric glossary.
Fulf ill ad hoc data requests and create self-service reports.
Pull, clean, and validate data for compliance filings and manage calendar with deadlines and owners.
Execute scheduled audits of employee files, system fields, and eligibility; document findings and actions.
Assemble evidence packages for external audits and regulatory inquiries.
Run reconciliations across HR systems and drive fixes with owners and HR Coordination team.
Monitor data quality trends and publish monthly updates.
Prepare datasets for pay equity and compensation audits; support predictive modeling with clean data.
