Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a talented Data Engineer II to own data pipelines, transformations, and reporting that support furnishing customer account data to credit bureaus. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on critical customer-facing data functions.

You will dig into account data and code, debug SQL and Python workflows, and collaborate with Customer Service, Compliance, and Engineering to deliver reliable, timely data and fixes.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or software engineering with ownership of production data pipelines.
• Excellent SQL and Python capabilities with debugging experience.
• Experience with version control, automated testing, monitoring, and safe deployment of data workflows.
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring credit bureau furnishing operations and data pipelines.
• Build, debug SQL transformations and Python scripts and data pipelines.
• Trace discrepancies from source records through transformation logic to outputs and implement fixes.
• Investigate escalations with Customer Service and Compliance on reporting policies.
• Identify affected accounts and verify corrected reporting results.
• Develop automated tests, reconciliations, monitoring, and alerts for data quality.
