Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a CFD Specialist for a fully remote role in aerospace R&D. You will simulate and optimize airflow over aircraft components to improve aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, and stability. This position supports collaboration with teams in Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX, while you work remotely from anywhere.

The role requires expertise in ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM, plus scripting to automate workflows. A Master’s or PhD and 5+ years in CFD are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace/Mechanical Eng with CFD specialization.
• 5+ years of CFD experience in aerospace.
• Deep knowledge of fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling and numerical methods.
• Proficient in ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+ or OpenFOAM.
• Experience with mesh generation tools: ANSA, Pointwise.
• Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
• Experience with ParaView or Tecplot for visualization.
• Understanding of aircraft design and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute complex CFD simulations for aerospace applications.
• Pre-process geometry and generate meshes using ANSA or Pointwise.
• Post-process results, visualize flow fields, and extract metrics.
• Analyze CFD data to provide design improvement insights.
• Validate CFD models against experiments and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with aerodynamicists and engineers to integrate findings.
• Stay updated on CFD techniques and tools.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate workflows.
