Job summary

HireHawk Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a long-term remote position with a U.S.-based client. You will support data entry, processing invoices and payments, and maintaining accurate records while aligning with US accounting practices and remote desktop workflows.

The role requires 2–5 years of experience, bilingual English/Spanish, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with both U.S. teammates and Mexican stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as accounting assistant, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or accounting data entry role
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish
• Experience entering accounting transactions with strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Medium Excel skills and data organization

Responsibilities

• Enter Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately into the accounting system
• Process invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, and credit memos
• Assist with invoice matching and supporting documentation
• Maintain organized electronic accounting records and filing systems
• Update spreadsheets and reconcile transaction listings with supporting documents
• Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations by preparing supporting information
• Review transactions for completeness and flag missing or inconsistent information
• Support month-end activities by preparing schedules and gathering required documentation
• Communicate with U.S. team members in English and Mexican stakeholders in Spanish regarding routine accounting matters
• Follow established accounting procedures and maintain accuracy while working within the client's remote desktop environment
• Perform other administrative and data entry tasks to support the finance team
