Job summary

ITJ seeks a Release Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery, from dev-ready to production, focusing on removing blockers and enforcing efficient flow. You will manage CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and Kubernetes/GitOps deployments while coordinating cross-functional teams.

You will drive weekly release trains, prepare release notes, and ensure accurate status in Jira/GitLab. A strong communicator with a bias for action will help shorten cycle times and improve release frequency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical delivery, technical program management, release management, DevOps, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows (GitLab preferred).
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and GitOps deployment.
• Experience running releases and change control in regulated environments.
• Track record of improving flow on a fast-moving engineering team with measurable results.
• Clear, direct communication and accountability for senior engineers while staying collaborative.
• Bias for action: anticipate stalled work and drive it to shipment.

Responsibilities

• Track every committed story from dev-ready through release and surface aging work.
• Drive work in progress down; enforce WIP limits and prevent started-but-unfinished work.
• Diagnose blockers (unclear requirements, pending reviews, unmerged deps, failed pipelines).
• Clear path to removal: know who to bring in to unblock barriers; avoid doing the engineering yourself.
• Have constructive conversations with engineers to unblock progress beyond Jira updates.
• Run releases end to end and manage weekly release trains.
• Prepare release scope, environment readiness, and release notes.
• Run and monitor test suites and verify test evidence before promotion.
• Ship releases to staging/production via GitOps with rollback plans.
• Map dependencies across infra, software, and safety; flag risks early.
• Capture sequencing from architects and keep team aligned.
