Job summary

CPKC is seeking an Engineer in Training to contribute to railway projects across North America. You will perform feasibility studies, site reconnaissance, surveys, and engineering design for track, bridges, and structures, with opportunities for advancement.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, eligibility for P.Eng, 1–3 years of experience, and strong communication and data-analysis skills. Travel to project sites and collaboration with multiple stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related)
• 1–3 years of experience (co-op considered)
• P.Eng eligible
• Valid driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the execution of assigned projects and deliver within defined scope, on time and on budget
• Oversee design and permitting of assigned projects
• Coordinate work with internal and external departments and customers for safe, cost-effective execution
• Provide construction management of assigned projects
• Travel to project sites as necessary
