Job Purpose

Sanmina is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager Onboarding Lead to join our team. This critical role ensures the smooth and efficient onboarding of new programs supporting a key customer, while also managing various projects related to process improvement, team initiatives, and other key business objectives within this high-visibility account. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with proven project management skills, excellent communication abilities, a passion for creating a positive onboarding experience, and a desire to contribute to a high‑performing team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with a major client and gain exposure to advanced manufacturing processes. While initially focused on program and customer onboarding and related projects, this role has the potential to expand into broader project management responsibilities within the key customer business unit, offering significant growth potential. This role requires frequent interaction between internal operations, sales, and the customer regularly, often engaging multiple customers and Sanmina teams and divisions/plants.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all logistical aspects of program/customer onboarding, including documentation, system access (potentially customer‑specific systems), communication plans, and coordination with multiple internal teams and divisions/plants.
  • Proactively identify and address potential onboarding challenges, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for new programs and customers.
  • Partner closely with sales, operations, and other internal teams across multiple Sanmina divisions/plants to ensure a seamless and collaborative onboarding process, acting as a central point of contact for new programs and customers.
  • Track and report on key onboarding metrics, such as time‑to‑implementation, customer satisfaction (using surveys and feedback mechanisms), and program performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive onboarding documentation and resources, ensuring they are up‑to‑date and easily accessible.
  • Lead and manage projects related to onboarding process improvements, team initiatives, and other assigned projects within the key customer program, utilizing established project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, considering the specific requirements and constraints.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and elevate issues as needed.
  • Communicate project updates effectively to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration, build consensus, and ensure alignment.
  • Use project management tools and methodologies to track progress, manage resources, and ensure project success.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the onboarding program and related areas, leveraging data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
  • Implement innovative solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the overall onboarding experience.
  • Document and maintain updated process documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Share information and updates with relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Experience and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred. A technical background in product design or a related field is highly advantageous.
  • 4–6 years of experience in project management and/or customer/program onboarding, preferably in a fast‑paced, high‑growth manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with or supporting key accounts, particularly in the automotive or technology sectors, is a significant advantage.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple teams and locations is essential.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrable expertise in project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com, MS Project).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering results on time and within budget, especially those involving multiple teams and locations.
  • Deep understanding of customer/program onboarding best practices and a passion for creating a positive experience.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels, including customer representatives and internal teams across different divisions/plants.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
  • Experience in the automotive or technology industry is highly desired.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working with or supporting key accounts is a significant advantage.
  • A keen understanding of complex manufacturing processes is a plus.
