Job summary

APM Terminals is seeking a senior Project HSSE Manager for the Lázaro Cárdenas Extension project. You will lead the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental discipline, ensuring safe, compliant execution of upgrades in line with local legislation and corporate standards.

You will influence HSSE strategy across the project lifecycle, collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and strengthen contractor capabilities through coaching in an international, complex environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in outsourced supply chain management for construction or asset delivery projects.
• Accountability for HSSE on at least two large-capital projects, preferably in Mexico.
• Experience in marine and civil construction works (piling, dredging, quay wall).
• Strong knowledge of Mexican NOM standards and HSSE requirements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Safety, Security Management with relevant HS&E certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define the project HSSE vision, strategy and goals, and implement the HSSE plan.
• Identify, assess and manage HSSE risks with reviews, KPI reporting, audits and inspections.
• Lead the Fatal 5 safety program and promote open dialogue for safe work conditions.
• Coordinate incident management, reporting, investigations and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and crisis communications with operations, contractors and authorities.
• Embed HSSE requirements in contracts, monitor compliance and ensure corrective actions.
• Plan interfaces and permit-to-work processes with active presence during critical operations.
