Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical engineer with strong power systems expertise to lead and support complex automation and protection projects.

You will train customers, supervise tasks within scope and schedule, and contribute to winning proposals. Ideal candidates have a background in protection, automation, and communications applications, with travel willingness and proven teamwork.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience in electric power systems and protection/automation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electric power system protection, control, integration and communications applications.
• Experience in electric power system design, studies, ICT, and protective relay applications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%.
• Strong writing, documentation and communication skills; team-oriented and quick to learn.

Responsibilities

• Apply power system knowledge to complete complex assignments using SEL products.
• Lead customer training on design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and protection systems.
• Manage scope, schedule and budget to deliver high-quality, safe results.
• Assist in preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
• Mentor staff and supervise as needed.
• Model SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand, create, and simplify processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
