Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on power systems to lead protection, automation and design efforts. You will train customers, manage projects within scope and budget, and contribute to proposals and staff development.

Travel up to 25% is required; strong communication skills and cross-border collaboration are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of electric power system protection, control, automation and communication applications.
Ability to learn new skills and work with teams across borders; willing to travel 25%+.
Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills and ability to present proposals.

Responsibilities

Lead in training customers on design, configuration, validation, installation and operation of automation or protection systems.
Lead in assigning, completing and delivering work within scope, schedule and budget with quality and safety.
Assist in identifying and presenting proposals for SEL equipment and services.
Mentor staff and, when needed, supervise junior engineers.
Apply SEL values, Principles of Operations and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Other duties as assigned.
