Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Mexico seeks an experienced electrical engineering professional with deep power systems knowledge to lead complex protection and automation projects. The role involves training customers, designing configurations, and delivering robust solutions across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include managing scope, schedule, and budgets; developing proposals; mentoring staff; and promoting SEL values and security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems and related practices
• Knowledge of electric power system protection, control, integration and automation
• Experience with protective relay applications and design studies
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%

Responsibilities

• Possesses and applies knowledge of power system focus area and SEL products to complex assignments
• Lead in training and assisting customers with design, configuration, validation, installation and operation of automation and/or protection systems
• Lead in assigning, completing and implementing work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety
• Assist in the identification, preparation and presentation of successful proposals for SEL equipment and services
• Mentor and develop professional staff; may supervise as necessary
• Model and apply SEL values and World Class Manufacturing Principles
• Understand, create, and simplify processes
• Other duties as assigned
