Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a seasoned electrical engineer to lead power-system protection, automation, and protection design initiatives in Mexico.

You will train customers, assist with project proposals, and mentor staff while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The role requires 5+ years in electric power systems and strong communication skills, with substantial travel both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with electric power systems and protection.
• Knowledge of protection, control, integration, and relay applications.
• Willing to travel 25% domestically and internationally.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead in training customers on design configuration, validation, installation and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
• Lead in assigning, completing and implementing work within scope, schedule and budget.
• Assist in preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment and services.
• Mentor and develop staff; may supervise as necessary.
• Model SEL values and World Class Manufacturing principles.
• Travel up to 80% to client sites as required.
