Flex, a leading manufacturing partner, seeks a Product Engineer for our Guadalajara, North Campus. You will manage product transfers, participate in new product introductions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity through production.

The role emphasizes BOM handling, NPI involvement, and support to the engineering and manufacturing teams. English proficiency is required, with a focus on delivering high-quality results for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience in BOM processes and product stages.
• Knowledge of SMT and assembly processes.
• NPI experience preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Handle product transfer and new product setup.
• Support production by assessing product engineering issues on the production line.
• Suggest process improvements to improve quality and yield.
• Troubleshoot product-related problems and perform failure evaluations.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams on product issues.
• Work with design teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Suggest changes to work instructions, materials, or product specs to ensure quality.
• Evaluate customer BOM and define production structure.
• Review functional product documentation.
• Identify safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings of parts and assemblies.
• Request drawings corrections or clarifications from customers.
• Manage engineering change implementation.
• Conduct DFM, tolerance evaluation, DOE, and root-cause analysis.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Product Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Director the Product Engineer will be responsible for receiving, evaluating, cleaning, and customizing all technical information / documentation from the customer related to their product, derived from a New Product Introduction (NPI) or a design change to establish all necessary processes to manufacture it by maintaining its design and performance integrity.

What a typical day looks like:

• Handle product transfer and new product set up.
• Support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on production line.
• Suggest improvements to process to obtain improved quality and production yield.
• Solve product related problems and perform failure evaluation related to product issues.
• Interact with customer and various departments on product related issues
• Work with design team to resolve design related issues.
• Suggest modification to work instructions, material, or product changes to ensure excellent quality of products.
• Customer´s Bill of Material (BOM) evaluation and structure definition for production
• Functional Product Documentation review
• Safety Requirements and regulations compliance identification
• Engineering Drawings Interpretation of parts and assemblies.
• Request customer for drawing corrections, additions, clarification, measurements methods
• Manage Engineering Changes Implementation
• Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance evaluation, Design of Experiment (DOE), form-fit-function to define failure root/cause evaluation and reporting to customer
• Provide support to supply chain to integrate parts derived from the vertical integration or localization effort
• Provide product training to the manufacturing/process engineers for better understanding of the product.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bahelor’s degree; Mechatronics, Industrial Engineer or related field.
• Experience in similar role with involvement in BOM’s processes and product stages.
• Consistent knowledge in SMT & assembly processes will be important.
• NPI experience would be a plus
• English advanced fluency
• Experience having direct contact with clients serving as strategic partner.
