Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to lead interconnection studies and grid modeling. The role emphasizes WECC and ERCOT scope, with hands-on PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD modeling for renewable generation such as Solar PV, BESS, and Wind.

The candidate will collaborate across teams, contribute to business development activities, and communicate complex technical findings clearly. This remote role is based from Mexico and may involve occasional travel.

Formación

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Experience with WECC/ERCOT interconnection analysis is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform and lead generation interconnection studies within WECC footprint.
  • Model and validate renewable generation (Solar PV, BESS, Wind) in PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD.
  • Support business development activities in ERCOT and West.
  • Attend meetings and report key engineering findings.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:



  • Perform and lead Generation Integration and load Interconnection studies within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint

  • Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.

  • Support business development activities within ERCOT and/or the West.

  • Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.

  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.

  • It is a plus if the candidate is able to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.

  • Contribute to Knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.

  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key findings.

  • 3+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.

  • Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.

  • Strong customer focus, both internal and external.

  • Robust organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, projects and resources.

Location: This position will be remote from Mexico


Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
