Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support integration studies and grid modeling from a remote position based in Mexico. You will model interconnection projects, analyze impacts, and contribute to innovative study approaches within a global engineering team.

Required are 1+ years of power systems engineering experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD is highly valued for renewable generation studies.

Formación

  • 1+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform Integration and load Interconnection studies within the WECC footprint.
  • Identify optimal interconnection strategy based on system impacts and grid capacity.
  • Work on interconnection projects including modeling, due diligence, and analysis.
  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for solar PV, BESS, and wind.
  • Attend meetings and report key findings on engineering issues.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Perform Integration and load Interconnection studies within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint
  • Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
  • Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.
  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.
  • It is a plus if the candidate is able to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.
  • Contribute to Knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key findings.

Location: This position will be worked remotely from Mexico

Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
