Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead daily human resources support at a manufacturing site. You will strengthen employee relations, assist leaders with performance and labor matters, and drive practical HR solutions to boost productivity and engagement.

Responsibilities include partnering with plant leadership on employee relations, supporting investigations, lean improvements, recruitment, onboarding, and coaching managers in employment practices.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing HR experience in a plant, production, or industrial environment.
• Experience with union avoidance and labor relations in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience supporting lean process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience supporting organizations with at least 100 employees.
• Experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and manager coaching.
• Ability to work effectively with hourly employees and plant leadership.
• Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience maintaining HR documentation and handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day HR support for a manufacturing site and its employees.
• Partner with plant leadership on employee relations and performance management.
• Support labor relations activities, including investigations and policy application.
• Assist with lean process improvements and productivity initiatives.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for hourly and salaried openings.
• Coach supervisors and managers on employment practices and employee engagement.
• Assist with talent management, succession planning, and training coordination.
• Maintain HR records, respond to inquiries, and support HR reporting/budgets.
