Job summary

Fanatics Collect is building its first engineering hub in Mexico City, and this role is central to making it a great place to work from day one.

As People and Workplace Lead, you will be the on-the-ground presence for a growing team — starting with launch and move-in preparation and evolving into a full HR support function as the office scales from its initial cohort of engineers to a broader 40+ person hub spanning engineering, data, design, and product.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of HR generalist or HR operations experience in a fast-growing tech or multinational environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Mexican labor law (LFT) and IMSS.
• Full professional bilingualism in English and Spanish—clear communication with local and global stakeholders.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential HR matters with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
• Comfortable operating independently in an environment still building its local structure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the launch and Day 1 readiness of the CDMX office, including onboarding and space setup.
• Lead new hire onboarding for CDMX employees—pre-boarding, Day 1 orientation, and 30/60/90-day check-ins.
• Advise managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, and compliant practices.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, team events, and culture-building activities.
• Assist in HR investigations and maintain confidentiality with the global People Ops team.
• Support performance management and disciplinary processes with Legal and global People Ops.
• Consult with leadership on people matters when the global team is not on-site.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data hygiene for CDMX staff.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican labor law (LFT) across contracts and benefits.
