Essity is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee payroll operations across Mexico and Central America. You will lead a team of payroll professionals, ensure accurate and timely payroll, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to drive improvements.

The role requires experience in multinational payroll environments, strong knowledge of payroll systems and tax compliance, and fluency in English and Spanish. You will influence regional processes and deliver exceptional employee experience.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Solid experience leading payroll operations across multinational environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll controls, taxes, and social security requirements.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with regional stakeholder communication skills.

About the Role

As Payroll Team Leader, you will lead payroll operations across Mexico and Central America, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery. You will play a key role in creating a seamless employee experience, leading a team of payroll professionals, and partnering with stakeholders across local, regional, and global functions. In this role, you will help drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, collaboration, and a strong commitment to service quality.

What You Will Do

• Payroll Operations: Lead and coordinate payroll delivery across Mexico and Central America, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all payroll cycles.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with local labor, tax, social security, and payroll regulations while maintaining strong controls and audit readiness.
• Team Leadership: Coach, develop, and support Payroll Specialists and Administrators to build a high-performing, customer-focused team.
• Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for complex payroll matters and provide guidance on payroll-related policies, processes, and compliance requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive process standardization, automation, digitalization, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Build effective relationships with HR, Compensation & Benefits, Finance, IT, external vendors, and business leaders across the region.
• Reporting & Performance: Monitor payroll reporting, operational metrics, resource planning, and service performance to support business continuity and operational excellence.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Solid experience leading payroll operations within multinational and multi-country environments, preferably across Mexico and Central America and/or Shared Services organizations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll controls, tax regulations, social security requirements, labor compliance, payroll systems, and advanced Excel capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead people, influence stakeholders, solve complex problems, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in fast-paced environments.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate confidently with regional and global stakeholders.
