Job summary

Placements24 is actively seeking an Accounting Assistant with payroll expertise to join our finance team in Torreón, Coahuila. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, data integrity, and timely reporting, while supporting general accounting tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws and tax regulations, maintain organized payroll records, and collaborate with accounts payable/receivable.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Solid understanding of Mexican labor laws and tax regulations related to payroll.
• Proficiency with payroll software and accounting systems (e.g., Contpaqi Nóminas, SAP).

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with current labor laws and tax regulations.
• Manage employee data related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and for tax filings.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of general ledger entries related to payroll and other accounting functions.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation, both physical and digital.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and other month-end closing activities.
• Help in gathering information for audits.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and accounting standards.
