Job summary

FORVIA HELLA in Irapuato, Mexico, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to execute planning and approval of new and complex production equipment in alignment with product development. You will plan complex production methods, specify working cycles, and coordinate procurement and production of operating equipment within manufacturing constraints.

Responsibilities include developing production methods, evaluating system suitability, planning equipment capacity, and defining workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering within the automotive industry.
• Strong experience with mold technology, plastic injection molding, and molding processes.

Responsibilities

• Agreeing and following up targets with the Project Manager or Operations Readiness Manager in terms of quality, costs and timing.
• Executing in the development of production methods taking market development for production systems into account and check new systems for suitability and applicability.
• Prepare suggestions for design of components suitable for production in accordance with manufacturing requirements identifying concrete potentials for saving based on the idea of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Plan complex operating equipment based on capacity and staff deployment plans to be drawn up; define type, extent, and number necessary production equipment.
• Determine available internal capacities for the construction of operating equipment; estimate the costs and prepare internal or external procurement suggestions.
• Define and describe manufacturing sequences, capacities and equipment data for planning variables; prepare manufacturing plans.
• Plan new manufacturing sequences and equipment with existing processes, using knowledge from work science, production engineering and economics; utilize digitization to increase efficiency (MES, Hydra, iTAC).
• Continual editing and implementation of technical information from partners; coordinate process and equipment changes.
• Evaluate risks using FMEA and develop improvement actions with customer requirements in mind.

Job Objective

Execution of planning and approval of new and complex production equipment in alignment with the product development process Planning and specifying complex working cycles and sequences, taking new and modified production processes and methods into account; planning and arranging for the procurement / manufacture of appropriate operating and testing equipment Projecting within the context of development projects in agreement with the superior

Duties and Responsibilities

• Agreeing and following up targets with the Project Manager or the Operations Readiness Manager in terms of quality, costs and timing in agreement with the superior and taking existing processes and methods into consideration
• Executing in the development of production methods taking the market development for production systems into account and check new systems for their suitability and applicability as set by Hella specific constrains and legal requirements
• Prepare suggestions for design of components suitable for production in accordance with manufacturing requirements identifying concrete potentials for saving based on the idea of TCO (total cost of ownership); inspiring design or manufacturing engineering changes
• Plan complex operating equipment based on capacity and staff deployment plans to be drawn up; define type, extent, and number necessary production equipment (including auxiliary and series tools, jigs, testing equipment, special machines); arrange the procurement and/or production of the specified operating equipment
• Determine available internal capacities for the construction of operating equipment; estimate the costs and prepare suggestions for internal or external procurement
• Define and describe manufacturing sequences, manufacturing capacities and operating equipment data taking into account the planning variables to be determined (workflows, planned times, batch sizes); prepare manufacturing plans using existing systems and methods
• Plan new manufacturing sequences and operating equipment with the help of existing manufacturing processes, taking knowledge from the field of work science, production engineering and economics into account, as well as guidelines and standards. Use digitization to increase efficiency and robustness (e.g. MES, Hydra, iTAC)
• Continual editing, interpretation and implementation of relevant technical information from internal and external partners as well as coordination and implementation of process and production equipment changes
• Evaluate risks using the process FMEA and taking customer requirements into consideration as well as developing and implementation of improvement actions

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering within the automotive industry.
• Strong experience with mold technology, plastic injection molding, and molding processes.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Proficiency in SAP, FMEA (AMEF), and CAD software.
• Experience with process transfers, production launches, and achieving project milestones
