Job summary

FORVIA HELLA in Guadalajara, Mexico is seeking a Process Specialist III to participate in the development and approval of special production processes and to define specifications for process-specific production equipment.

You will be involved in process qualification, supplier evaluation, training, and monitoring to improve process capability and KPIs across the plant network.

Qualifications

• University degree required.
• 3–5 years of automotive industry experience.
• Experience with welding technologies.
• Knowledge of PC/PMMA materials.
• Understanding Cp/Cpk and dimensional validation.
• Experience with Branson and Kiefel welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and approve special production processes and technologies.
• Define specifications for process-specific production equipment.
• Support supplier selection for process equipment.
• Set up process equipment with involved partners.
• Document process parameters and limits.
• Monitor processes to meet KPIs and implement improvements.
• Analyze process failures and implement improvements.
• Contribute to PFMEAs with production technology experts.

Job Objective

Participation in the development and approval of special production processes and technologies as well as executing the definition of specification requirements for the process specific production equipment

Duties and Responsibilities

A Process Technology

• Participate in the development of special production processes and technologies taking the market development into account and check new and existing processes and technologies for their suitability and applicability as set by Hella specific constrains and legal requirements
• Qualification of approved processes for new products
• Executing or supporting the definition of specifications for process specific production equipment
• Supporting the supplier selection for process specific production equipment
• Support set up of the process specific production equipment together with the involved partners
• Determination and documentation of the process parameters and limits
• Process approval considering the requested process capabilities and further quality and productivity criteria
• Release and change of process parameters in accordance with the Hella network regulations
• Monitoring of the specific processes in the running production as well as suggestions and implementation of improvements with the target to improve the process capability and to reach the relevant KPIs
• Executing the analysis of process failures / faulty parts as well introduction of improvements
• Support the creation of process specific (standard) PFMEAs in cooperation with the production technology experts of other plants
• Training of the process users and support training of worldwide production technology experts in accordance with their needs
• Support or realization of basic investigations for new processes
• Support DfM reviews to evaluate new product designs regarding all packaging technologies

B Projecting

• Participate in project teams for any kind of product / product family related cost improvements
• Carrying out other tasks related to this position (including examining as well as complying with industrial safety and environmental protection measures pertaining to the scope of duties)

Job Profile / Requirements

• more than 2 up to 3 years

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience with welding technologies, including Vibration Welding and Infrared (IR) Welding processes.
• Knowledge of injection molding materials, particularly Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylics (PMMA).
• Understanding of dimensional validation and statistical process capability analysis (Cp/Cpk).
• Experience operating and troubleshooting Branson and Kiefel welding equipment.
