General Motors is seeking a controls engineer to execute and develop manufacturing controls within a centralized engineering or plant team. The role involves design, integration, plant installation, and continuous improvement of PLC, robotics, and vision systems on production equipment.

Formación

• Bachelor´s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and the interpretation of mechanical, electrical, and control drawings; PLCs; FANUC robots; vision systems; and preventive and predictive maintenance.
• More than 4 years of experience in maintenance.
• Advanced English.

Responsabilidades

• New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff).
• Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement.
• Staying abreast of controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts.
• Managing deliveries to program timing milestones.
• Providing project report outs to senior management.
• Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.).
• Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
• Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems.
• Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
• Planning and coordinating maintenance activities, as well as providing support throughout their effective execution.
• Ensuring sustained daily productivity of the shop.
