General Motors in Mexico seeks a Manufacturing Controls Engineer to drive execution and development of manufacturing controls. The role spans centralized engineering and plant activities, requiring creativity and independent judgment.

Responsibilities include new program implementation, design/integration, equipment build/run-off, and maintaining PLC/HMI and robotics capabilities. On-site, full-time with 4x3 shifts, focusing on productivity and continuous improvement.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Electromechanical or Mechatronics engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drawings, PLCs, robots, vision systems, and maintenance practices.
  • More than 2 years of maintenance experience.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • New program implementation/execution including forecasting, controls design, build/run-off and buyoff.
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of controls technologies, PLCs, HMI, networks, robots and vision.
  • Manage deliveries to program timing milestones.
  • Provide project report outs to senior management.
  • Existing program/site support including troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
  • Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
  • Develop and test advanced process technology as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and support execution.
  • Ensure sustained daily shop productivity.

What You Will Do?

Responsible for the execution/develop of manufacturing controls. Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.


Responsibilities include:



  • New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)

  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement

  • Maintaining awareness of controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts

  • Managing deliveries to program timing milestones

  • Providing project report outs to senior management

  • Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)

  • Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.

  • Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems

  • Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology

  • Planning and coordinating maintenance activities, as well as providing support throughout their effective execution.

  • Ensuring sustained daily productivity of the shop.


Work Appropriately On Site

This position requires working on site on a full-time basis. This position requires to change shifts (4x3).


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor´s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and the interpretation of mechanical, electrical, and control drawings; PLCs; FANUC robots; vision systems; and preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • More than 2 years of experience in maintenance.

  • Intermediate English.
