Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to support the P315 Long-Term Program at the Mexicali plant, delivering on-site technical services and maintaining client relationships with the CFE/SUTERM. The role blends hands-on maintenance management, project coordination, and commercial support to ensure continuous operation.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in the maintenance and operation of thermoelectric power plants, with gas turbines and generators.
  • Experience planning and executing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Experience managing unionized personnel is desirable.

Responsabilidades

  • On-Site Technical & Maintenance Management: provide on-site technical assistance, evaluation, and troubleshooting for turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment; coordinate outages; perform inspection rounds; supervise client work; perform minor maintenance and Kai‑Zen improvements.
  • Project Coordination & Client Relationship Management: act as primary on-site contact between client (CFE/SUTERM) and Siemens Energy Project Manager; maintain relationships; log service reports and records; manage on-site inventory; track engineering requests.
  • Contractual & Commercial Support: assist planning maintenance activities, analyze performance trends, support warranty claims; track operating hours and assist with invoices; identify commercial opportunities; manage part identification and reordering.

How to contribute to our vision

This position is a new Resident Engineer supporting the P315 Long-Term Program (LTP) contracts at the CFE power plant located in Mexicali, Baja California Norte ensuring business continuity and seamless service delivery. As a Senior Professional, the role is vital for maintaining the on-site client relationship and upholding Siemens Energy's contractual commitments. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: On-Site Technical & Maintenance Management, focusing on hands‑on support and coordination of power plant equipment; Project Coordination & Client Relationship Management, ensuring clear communication and logistical control; and Contractual & Commercial Support, assisting the remote project management team with administrative and financial tasks. Given the focus on direct technical support and client‑facing coordination, the ideal candidate will be an Engineer with proven experience in thermoelectric power plants, specifically with turbines and generators. This individual must be capable of working independently with limited supervision, demonstrating strong skills in troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and project coordination to effectively manage on‑site operations.

What You Need To Make a Difference
  • 50% On-Site Technical & Maintenance Management
    • Provide on‑site technical assistance, evaluation, and troubleshooting for operational and maintenance issues on turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
    • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance outages to ensure rapid return to service, acting as the primary technical contact on‑site.
    • Execute detailed inspection rounds on covered equipment and auxiliary systems, monitoring conditions and collecting operational data with high integrity.
    • Supervise, verify, and expedite maintenance work performed by client (CFE) personnel, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
    • Perform minor maintenance, adjustments, and continuous improvement (Kai‑Zen) activities to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • 30% Project Coordination & Client Relationship Management
    • Act as the primary on‑site point of contact between the client (CFE/SUTERM) and the Siemens Energy Project Manager for all day‑to‑day operational matters.
    • Create, maintain, and improve internal and external relationships on‑site, participating in and documenting client meetings.
    • Maintain and supervise detailed logs, service reports, and operational records, ensuring data accuracy for internal systems like Fleet Intelligence.
    • Coordinate the logistics of parts, tools, and personnel to and from the power plant, including managing on‑site inventory.
    • Initiate, track, and verify the closure of engineering requests and field action requests (FARs).
  • 20% Contractual & Commercial Support
    • Support the Project Manager in planning maintenance activities, analyzing performance trends, and preparing for technical meetings.
    • Assist in initiating and resolving product warranty claims in accordance with contractual terms.
    • Support contract administration by tracking operating hours, assisting with invoice preparation, and contributing to weekly/monthly client reports.
    • Identify and communicate potential commercial opportunities for new services or equipment upgrades to the Portfolio Manager.
    • Act as the primary contact for identifying parts, resolving drawing/part number conflicts, and managing the reordering process.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in the maintenance and operation of thermoelectric power plants, with specific expertise in gas turbines and generators.
  • Experience in planning and executing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Experience managing unionized personnel is desirable.
