• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation Engineering or related field.

Overview

Prismecs is seeking a Proposal Engineer / Technical Engineering Support professional based in Mexico to support power generation and energy projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in power plants, controls, electrical, instrumentation, O&M, or EPC environments who can support both engineering reviews and proposal development.

The selected candidate will attend technical calls, review client requirements, support RFQs and vendor clarifications, assist with proposal content, and help translate engineering discussions into clear technical and commercial inputs.

This is not only an administrative proposal role. The ideal candidate should be technically capable of understanding plant systems, project scopes, equipment requirements, and engineering discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend technical and commercial calls with Prismecs teams, clients, vendors, and project partners.
  
• Support proposal preparation by reviewing technical scope, client requirements, drawings, equipment lists, and specifications.
  
• Provide technical input for power generation, O&M, controls, electrical, instrumentation, and plant support proposals.
  
• Review RFQs, vendor quotations, technical datasheets, equipment/service scopes, and technical clarifications.
  
• Assist with preparing proposal sections, technical summaries, assumptions, exclusions, risk notes, and clarification logs.
  
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, sales, and proposal teams to ensure proposal content is accurate and complete.
  
• Support review of plant systems such as gas turbines, controls, DCS/SCADA, instrumentation, electrical systems, CMMS, maintenance planning, and reliability requirements.
  
• Help validate technical scope against client requirements and project deliverables.
  
• Support budgetary estimates, spare parts reviews, vendor comparisons, and technical evaluations as needed.
  
• Maintain organized documentation for proposal reviews, client requirements, and technical decisions.
  
• Assist with project handoff from proposal stage to execution team when required.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  
• 5+ years of experience in power generation, EPC, O&M, industrial plants, gas turbines, electrical systems, controls, or instrumentation.
  
• Experience supporting proposals, RFQs, technical reviews, vendor coordination, client clarifications, or engineering documentation.
  
• Strong understanding of power plant operations, maintenance, technical documentation, and equipment review.
  
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, equipment lists, and engineering documents.
  
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  
• Must be based in Mexico or able to support Mexico/US Central Time Zone working hours.
  
• Comfortable attending technical calls and preparing follow-up summaries or proposal inputs.
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to technical accuracy.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Gas turbine, combined cycle, simple cycle, or power plant O&M experience.
  
• Experience with GE, Siemens, Emerson, Mark VI/VIe, Ovation, DCS, SCADA, PLC, instrumentation, CMMS, or electrical systems.
  
• Prior experience preparing technical clarifications, RFQ comparisons, scope documents, or proposal inputs.
  
• Spanish and English bilingual preferred.
  
• Experience working with international teams, vendors, or clients.
  
• Familiarity with proposal development for energy, power, EPC, O&M, field services, or technical support projects.
