Mattel Brick Shop in Monterey is seeking a Lead Product Development Engineer to drive construction toy product development from concept through production, ensuring quality, manufacturability, cost, and consumer experience.

You will lead engineering activities, coordinate with design, quality, packaging and manufacturing teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage prototype and production builds to readiness for production.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of product engineering or development.
• Experience leading products from concept to production.
• Knowledge of plastic part design, tooling, injection molding, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong project engineering, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD tools.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Experience with Asian suppliers and international travel preferred.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the engineering development of construction toy products from concept through production launch.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners throughout the development process.
• Own Engineering Pilot (EP) and Final Engineering Pilot (FEP) builds, driving issue resolution and product readiness for production.
• Manage prototype and production sample builds, incorporating design, engineering, and quality feedback.
• Review engineering documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and completeness.
• Support tooling development, mold qualification, and production readiness activities.
• Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and support final product approval.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
