Mattel Brick Shop in Mexico is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to drive construction toy product development from concept through production. You will collaborate with Design, Quality, Packaging, and Manufacturing to ensure products meet quality, performance, manufacturability, and cost targets for successful market launches.

Responsibilities include leading EP/FEP builds, coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers, reviewing BOMs, and guiding junior engineers.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience in product engineering, product development, building set development, or a related industry.
• Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of plastic part design, tooling, and injection molding is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering drawing/CAD tools.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including Asia, as required.

Responsabilidades

• Support the engineering development of construction toy products from concept through production launch.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners throughout the development process.
• Manage Engineering Pilot (EP) and Final Engineering Pilot (FEP) builds, helping to identify and resolve complex technical issues before production.
• Manage prototype and production sample builds, incorporating design, engineering, and quality feedback.
• Review engineering documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and completeness.
• Support tooling development, mold qualification, and production readiness activities.
• Track project milestones and follow up on action items to support on-time delivery.
• Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to support product approvals and production sign-off.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Coach and guide junior engineers, if needed.
