Warner Bros. Discovery in Mexico City (Polanco) is seeking a Record to Report (RTR) or Controller Junior Accountant to deliver quality accounting services for the company.

The role collaborates with local and regional teams, including Global Business Services and external auditors, ensuring policy adherence and timely month-end processes. The position reports to the Accounting Managers of the region and focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, and close support within the RTR framework.

Formación

• Advanced student of Accounting/Administration/Finance
• Intermediate English
• Accounting experience
• Experience in SAP FI/CO preferred
• BlackLine and Cadency experience would be preferred
• Proficient with MS Excel and advanced functions

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, issue IC invoices and other month-end activities
• Prepare simple accruals and manual journal entries with supporting documents
• Prepare files to analyze monthly activity of accounts and report variances to the Accounting Manager
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts and suggest improvements to procedures
• Bank reconciliations, bank upload, clearing of open items and follow-up to clear items
• Participate in the regional closing process and ensure month-end close completeness
• Ensure completeness of close for appointed entities and adherence to month-end calendar
• Perform other duties requested by stakeholders in the accounting region

Your new role

The primary responsibility of the Record to Report (RTR) or Controller Junior Accountant is to deliver quality accounting services for Warner Bros. Discovery entities. The role will be based in Polanco, Mexico City, and will report directly to the Manager - Record to Report or Manager Controller for Argentina and Chile based in Mexico City. The RTR/Controller Junior Accountant will need to work for their respective region and report to the Accounting Managers of that region or above and work closely with the Local Entity Financial Controller, including other Business Departments, Global Business Services (GBS), the broader Finance community, Internal Audit, and external auditors, Tax team and Financial Compliance. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accounting policies are followed for their respective region, month-end processes are completed accurately and on a timely basis, and ensuring completeness of SOX documents and process-related documentation.

Your new role accountabilities

• Responsible for preparing and posting month-end journal entries, reconciling GL accounts, issuing IC invoices, and other month-end related standard and ad-hoc activities
• Prepare simple accruals and other manual journal entries and their respective supporting documents, keeping evidence of control and approval.
• Prepare supporting files to analyze the monthly activity of assigned accounts. Identify and highlight relevant variances and differences in QTD and YTD analysis. Report those variances to the Accounting Manager.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts. Identify improvement areas in the supporting files and documents used to back up those reconciliations in Cadency Certification. Suggest those changes to the Accounting Manager.
• Bank Reconciliations process, bank upload, clearing of open items, follow up to clear the items
• Participate in the closing process in the region
• Ensuring completeness of close for appointed entities
• Ensuring completeness of the month-end accounting process as per the month-end calendar
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested by his/her key Customers/Stakeholders in respective accounting region

Qualification & Experience

• Advanced student of Accounting/Administration/Finance
• Intermediate English
• Accounting experience
• Experience in SAP FI/CO preferred
• Blackline and Cadency experience would be preferred
• Proficient with MS Excel and advanced functions
