Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an HV Substations Engineer to lead primary electrical design for high voltage substations and related deliverables. You will develop main line diagrams, station layouts, grounding, and load calculations while collaborating with sales to propose technically viable solutions.

The role requires a 5+ yearElectrical/Electromechanical background, proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro-station or Revit, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience for high voltage substations (AIS)
• Experience with equipment used in substations
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro-station or Revit
• Strong communication and technical skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Propose technical solutions tailored to customer needs during proposal phase; technically viable, innovative, and competitive
• Develop project design criteria; prepare main one-line and station auxiliary one-line diagrams; develop grounding drawings
• Develop substation/switchyard general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings, BOMs; perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination and station auxiliary load calculations
• Review and approve manufacturer documentation; select main equipment (Power transformers, Breakers, Disconnectors, VT/TPs)
• During execution, participate in meetings with providers and customers to obtain approval for electromechanical engineering
