APM Terminals is seeking a Project HSSE Manager for the Lázaro Cárdenas Extension project. The role leads Health, Safety, Security and Environmental disciplines to upgrade facilities safely and in compliance with local laws and corporate standards.

You will influence HSSE strategy across the project lifecycle, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and elevate contractor capabilities through training and continuous improvement in a multinational setting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Safety, Security Management or a related discipline, supported by relevant HSE-accredited certifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching and stakeholder management capabilities across diverse teams.
• Experience in marine and civil construction works, including risk management and compliance with NOM standards.

Responsabilidades

• Define the project’s HSSE vision, strategy, goals and objectives, and implement the HSSE management plan in alignment with the APM Terminals framework and Mexican regulations.
• Identify, assess and manage HSSE risks while supporting risk reviews, KPI reporting, audits, inspections, safety tours and assurance activities.
• Foster a proactive HSSE culture by implementing the APM Terminals Fatal 5 Program, encouraging open dialogue and understanding the conditions that influence safe work.
• Lead incident management processes, including transparent reporting, learning-focused reviews, high-potential incident investigations and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and crisis communication protocols with terminal operations, contractors, suppliers and external authorities.
• Embed HSSE requirements within contracts and procurement processes, monitor contractor compliance and ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed.
• Coordinate interfaces and high-risk activities through planning and permit-to-work processes, maintaining an active presence during challenging operations.
