ABB in Apodaca, Nuevo León, is seeking an HSE Specialist who will enhance health, safety and environmental performance across operations, applying in-depth HSE knowledge to drive risk reduction and regulatory compliance. You will work with SEMARNAT, STPS and PROFEPA knowledge and deliver training to teams, with advanced English required.

You will design KPIs, establish a framework for corrective actions from audits and incidents, lead MoC processes, coordinate investigations, and drive ISO 45001

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline as listed.
• 2+ years in a similar HSE Specialist role in manufacturing.
• Experience auditing for ISO 45001 & 50001.
• Experience with regulatory knowledge (STPS,SEMARNAT, PROFEPA).
• Strong risk analysis experience and practical MoC leadership.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.The work model for the role is: #LI-OnSiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.You will be mainly accountable for:Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor health, safety, and environmental performance. Review and refine metrics to align with evolving operational goals and regulatory requirements.Establish a structured framework for identifying, documenting, and tracking corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.Conduct thorough reviews of applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, STPS, PROFEPA in Mexico). Ensure site operations are compliant through gap analyses, legal registers, and periodic audits.Lead and support Management of Change (MoC) processes. Ensure that changes in equipment, processes, materials, or personnel are evaluated for HSE impacts. Facilitate risk assessments, documentation updates, and training to maintain compliance and prevent unintended consequencesCoordinate and conduct investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors. Use structured methodologies to identify contributing factors and root causes. Document findings clearly and develop corrective actions that address systemic issues.Design and launch awareness campaigns, training programs, and engagement activities that promote a strong HSE culture. Tailor messaging to different organizational levels—from shop floor to leadership.Plan and execute internal audits of the HSE management system to assess compliance, identify improvement areas, and ensure alignment with ISO standards. Document findings and follow up on corrective actions.Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainable Development Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.2+ years of experience in similar roles as HSE Specialist (Safety).Experience in manufacturing environment.Lead or internal auditor for ISO 45001 & 50001.Experience in risk analysis.Federal regulatory knowledge (STPS, PASST).Experience in Power BI & AI.Advanced English level.Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
