ABB in Mexico is seeking an HSE Specialist to improve health, safety, and environmental performance within a manufacturing setting in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. You will apply in-depth HSE knowledge to drive risk management and sustainability initiatives across the ABB value chain.

The role focuses on waste management, regulatory interactions, and the development of programs to reduce environmental impact while supporting cost efficiency. English fluency and strong communication are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, enviromental, chemical engineering or related careers.
• 2+ years of experience in similar roles and within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Clean Industry, ZWTL and Net Zero programs.
• Lead or internal auditor for ISO 50001.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, STPS, PROFEPA in Mexico).
• Advanced English level.

Responsabilidades

• Lead waste management techniques, collection of storm water samples, facilitate regulatory inspections, mitigate environmental risks, and ensure records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental standards.
• Lead the site in interactions with environmental regulatory agencies, permit evaluation and processing, and the introduction of new processes and technologies.
• Submit critical reports to various government agencies.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategies, policies, and programs aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and operational costs through energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource optimization.
• Monitor and report sustainability performance metrics, including carbon footprint, water usage, and waste generation.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, regulators, and community partners—to promote sustainability initiatives.

This position reports to: HSE Specialist

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

The work model for the role is:

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

You will be mainly accountable for:
