General Motors de México in Toluca is seeking a Production Group Leader to optimize the use of personnel, material and equipment on the shop floor.

You will train, develop and evaluate hourly team members, lead lean manufacturing and GMS processes, and ensure production schedules meet cost and quality targets. This on-site role requires strong leadership and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of one year of machining experience.
• Knowledge of machining processes, CNC equipment and machining cells.
• Experience leading or coordinating production personnel.
• Conversational English is desirable.

• As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
• Participates in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members.
• Participates in the development of highly effective teams. Leads Global Manufacturing Systems(GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
• Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
• Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues.
• Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
• Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
• Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
• Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.
• Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field, or relevant equivalent experience.

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience in machining. Previous experience in machining operations is required.
• Knowledge of machining processes, CNC equipment, machining cells, and machine operation.
• Experience supporting production operations is desirable.
• Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production personnel.

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of machining processes.
• Knowledge of CNC equipment and machining cells.
• Understanding of machine operation.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Familiarity with GMS requirements is desirable, particularly for internal candidates.

Language Skills

Conversational English is desirable.

• Shift flexibility: Availability to work on rotating shifts under a 4x3 schedule, with monthly shift rotation.
