General Motors is seeking a full-time on-site supervisor in San Luis Potosí to lead and develop hourly teams, ensuring efficient use of personnel, materials, and equipment while upholding quality standards. You will champion lean manufacturing principles, drive productivity improvements, and coach Group Leaders in standardized methods and JIT training.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, knowledge of metalworking processes, and strong English

Formación

  • Knowledge of dies and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of metalworking industry processes.
  • Strong communication skills with maintenance, operations, and process peers.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

  • Lead and develop hourly team members and build effective teams.
  • Manage utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Maintain quality standards and communicate quality goals to the team.
  • Promote safe work practices and housekeeping measures.
  • Coach and mentor Group Leaders in lean manufacturing and variation reduction.

What You Will Do?
  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
  • Participates in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members.
  • Participates in the development of highly effective teams.
  • Leads Global Manufacturing Systems(GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
  • Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
  • Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues.
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management.
  • Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  • Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
  • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
  • Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
  • Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
  • Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.
  • Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
Work Appropriately On Site:

This position requires working on site on a full-time basis.

This position requires to change shifts (4x3, 5x2).

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location on a full-time basis.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor´s degree: Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
