General Motors de México is seeking a Production Group Leader to optimize use of personnel, materials, and equipment on site. You will train and develop hourly team members, lead GMS processes, and support launches in assigned areas.

You will work to meet production schedules, uphold quality standards, build strong cross-functional relationships, and promote safety and lean practices across shifts at the facility.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production personnel (desirable).
  • Experience supporting production operations, preferably within assembly manufacturing processes.

Responsabilidades

  • As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.

  • Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
  • Maintains awareness of quality standards and communicates department goals to solve quality issues.
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management and understands local agreements.
  • Implements and follows systems to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Promotes safe work practices and objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
  • Motivates, trains and develops employees to perform their jobs using standardized methods.
  • Ensures team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
  • Achieves production schedules and product requirements applying lean and synchronous principles to reduce variation and costs.

Job Description
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
  • Participates in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members.
  • Participates in the development of highly effective teams. Leads Global Manufacturing Systems(GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
  • Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
  • Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues.
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  • Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
  • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
  • Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
  • Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
  • Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.
  • Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field or relevant experience.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production personnel. (desirable)
  • Experience supporting production operations, preferably within assembly manufacturing processes.
Technical Knowledge
  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies.
  • Understanding of Core Tools fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems and continuous improvement practices.
Language Skills
  • Intermediate conversational English. Ability to read, understand, and follow technical procedures, work instructions, and documentation in English.
Working Conditions
  • Shift flexibility: Availability to work on rotating shifts (4x3)
  • Work Arrangement: 100% On-site
