Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Manager International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) Risk to provide comprehensive risk stewardship for the IWPB retail credit risk portfolio. You will deliver independent oversight, governance, and evidence-based challenge to the first line of defense, strengthening risk controls and ensuring decisions stay within appetite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of non-financial risk gained in front line, risk, consultancy or audit roles.
• Experience using enterprise risk management tools and taxonomies such as Helios and Risk and Control Assessments.
• Advanced spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical skills to synthesise information and provide clear options.
• Proven ability to plan and organise work, influence stakeholders and provide respectful, evidence-based challenge.
• Ability to work independently under pressure within a collaborative team environment.
• Critical thinking and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong business understanding of lending products and risk strategy.
• Background in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Business Management (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clear risk governance and oversight for IWPB retail credit risk.
• Challenge 1LOD risk reporting for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and manage top and emerging risks from product/process changes.
• Coordinate Risk Appetite Statement process for IWPB and align with policies.
• Educate and coach 1LOD management to enhance risk controls.
• Facilitate senior management decision-making with concise risk assessments.
• Collaborate across 1LOD/2LOD/3LOD to improve governance and issue management.
• Maintain robust risk documentation across frameworks and tools.
