Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Manager International Wealth and Premier Banking Risk to provide expert risk stewardship for the IWPB retail credit risk portfolio and oversee the risk and control environment.

You will deliver independent oversight, governance, and evidence-based challenge to the First Line of Defense, strengthening risk controls and improving assessments and issue management across the bank’s risk framework.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in banking governance and risk and control management.
• Deep understanding of non-financial risk in front-line, risk, consultancy or audit roles.
• Experience with enterprise risk management tools and taxonomies such as Helios.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk stewardship for the IWPB retail credit risk portfolio and oversight of risk and control environment.
• Review and challenge control expectations to ensure fit for purpose and aligned with risk appetite.
• Identify, diagnose, and track issues with ownership and timelines in the risk framework.
• Co-create governance with 1LOD/2LOD/3LOD stakeholders at Global and Country levels.
• Review risk reporting and escalate discrepancies to ensure reliable senior-management information.
• Coordinate the Risk Appetite Statement process and support threshold setting across policies.
• Educate and coach management to enhance risk control frameworks and ensure compliance.
• Facilitate senior management decision-making with concise risk assessments.
