Job summary

HSBC seeks an experienced Manager International Wealth and Premier Banking Risk to provide expert risk stewardship for the IWPB retail credit risk portfolio. You will deliver independent oversight, governance and evidence-based challenge to the First Line of Defense, strengthening risk controls and ensuring decisions stay within appetite.

You will build relationships with 1LOD/2LOD stakeholders at Global and Country level, coordinate Risk Appetite Statements and guide risk reporting for senior

Qualifications

• Strong governance and risk and control management experience.
• Ability to diagnose control issues and drive practical improvements.
• Experience with enterprise risk management tools and taxonomies.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear advisory on policies, controls and procedures to support 1LOD in managing IWPB retail credit risk.
• Review and challenge control expectations to ensure fit for purpose and aligned with risk appetite.
• Assess issues across HSBC, identify root causes and track ownership/timelines in Helios.
• Identify and manage top and emerging risks using 4Qs and escalate when outside appetite.
• Build strong relationships with 1LOD/2LOD stakeholders at Global and Country level.
• Review and challenge 1LOD risk reporting for clear management information.
• Coordinate the Risk Appetite Statement process for IWPB and cascade into policies.
• Provide risk and control analysis across the Risk Management Framework.
• Educate and coach 1LOD management to enhance risk control frameworks.
• Facilitate senior management decision-making with clear risk assessments.
• Collaborate across 1LOD/2LOD/3LOD to solve problems quickly and escalate when needed.
