Veritiv México is seeking a detail-oriented collections specialist under general supervision to manage key accounts and optimize cash flow through effective collections, documentation, and collaboration with sales. This role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, strong problem-solving, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Oracle.

• Requires strong oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in PC applications, Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Oracle is preferred.
• Three or more years of commercial credit experience.
• Bachelor or Associate degree or equivalent is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers internal and external.
• Monitors a portfolio and prompts on-time payments; recovers delinquent receivables.
• Collects invoices, proofs of delivery, credit memos, and payments.
• Contacts customers by phone and email about delinquencies and disputes.
• Documents all collection contacts and promises to pay.
• Follows up to ensure information requests are met and commitments kept.
• Gains access to and enters invoices for third-party invoicing systems.
• Researches and resolves customer disputes and payment issues.
• Escalates issues to credit manager when needed.
• Informs manager about issues impacting DSO and delinquency.
• Ensures customer billing addresses and terms are accurate.
• Prepares reports on collection activity and delinquency.
• Reconciles account balances and handles short/overpayments (if not handled by Deductions).
• Identifies and reconciles sales tax deductions or exemptions.
• Processes credit card payments when required.
• Develops strategy and effective tactics for consistent results.
• Assist with posting unidentified cash payments.
• Understand accounting as relates to accounts receivable.
• Order review responsibility and credit action on orders per policy.
• Judges when to elevate to credit manager.
• Communicates with Sales and customers to resolve issues.
• Requests increased credit lines for timely payers.
• Reports negative payment trends to Sales and Finance.
• Interacts with Credit management to resolve referral orders.
• Understands market factors and risk.
• Maintains effective communication to collection while preserving goodwill.
