CIMMYT seeks a dynamic Program Manager to lead the Genetic Resources Program, delivering impact through strategic portfolio planning and cross‑functional collaboration across chapters and geographies. The role emphasizes results delivery, budget oversight, and donor‑compliant reporting.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 10+ years in program management, with strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills to drive CIMMYT’s mission in agriculture and food systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in agriculture, business, public administration or related field or equivalent.
• Certified project manager.
• 10+ years demonstrated experience with project or program management.
• Advanced knowledge of program, portfolio and project management and/or operating protocols and principles of the function.
• Advanced strategic thinking and ability to identify/develop new approaches.
• Understanding of linkages with agricultural food systems and sustainable development.
• Proficiency in common software packages.

Responsibilities

• Map program project portfolio alignment with CIMMYT’s strategy and science thrusts.
• Ensure portfolio planning and execution aligned with policies and procedures.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance at portfolio level.
• Coordinate full project lifecycle across teams and geographies.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards.
• Provide administrative leadership for planning, coordination and delivery of portfolio activities.
• Support evaluations, audits and continuous improvement.
