Job summary

Santander Digital Services in Mexico is seeking an experienced Global FX Support Analyst to provide 24/7 L2 production support for in-house and vendor FX trading applications. You will work with Trading, Technology, and external vendors to ensure platform stability and performance.

The role requires strong FX knowledge, production support experience, and the ability to coordinate across global teams. Expect shift rotations and weekend/on-call duties as part of the model.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Global FX Support Analyst to join the team in Mexico. The successful candidate will provide a global follow-the-sun L2 production support service for in-house and vendor FX Trading applications supporting the regional and global FX business.

The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, FX business knowledge and production support experience. You will work closely with Trading, Technology, Infrastructure, external vendors and other stakeholders to ensure the stability, availability and performance of critical FX trading platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 production support for FX e-Trading and Distribution systems, ensuring incidents are investigated, managed and resolved effectively.
• Manage, maintain and support business-critical applications and their operating environments.
• Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring and regional handovers as part of the global follow-the-sun support model.
• Deliver application support, maintenance and testing through Agile methodologies, working within squad-based teams.
• Track outstanding production issues and coordinate with appropriate technology, business and vendor teams through to resolution.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, external clients and third-party vendors.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and automate repetitive or manual support activities.
• Provide support for Liquidity Providers, pricing engines and aggregation platforms.
• Coordinate and provide support for vendor and third-party FX applications.
• Perform client onboarding onto eCommerce / FX platforms, including conformance testing and monitoring of client connections.
• Work with Network teams on SSL configuration/licensing and certificate renewals.
• Work closely with UNIX/Linux, Database, Network, Market Data, Infrastructure and Firewall teams during outages and code/infrastructure changes.
• Use strong FIX protocol knowledge to troubleshoot electronic trading connectivity and message flows.
• Participate in bank-wide DR/BCP/isolation tests and site switches, and work with Production Support teams on remediation.
• Support infrastructure changes, business checkouts, releases and failovers, including planned weekend activity where required.
• Document incidents, known issues, operating procedures and new processes in Confluence.
• Participate in weekend and on-call support rotas. The resource must be flexible and willing to work in shift rotation across different time zones as required by the global support model.

Education

• Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Experience Required

• 5+ years of experience in a Production/Application Support role, preferably within Financial Markets or Investment Banking.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
• Detailed understanding of relevant trade flows, including pricing, quoting, RFQ, execution, STP, settlement and regulatory reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across internal teams, external clients and vendors.
• Good understanding of FX products, terminology and the trading lifecycle.
• Experience supporting low-latency, high-availability trading platforms.

Technical Skills

• Elastic Stack: Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash.
• Operating systems: Windows, UNIX and Linux.
• Strong scripting and automation skills: Shell scripting and Python.
• Monitoring and scheduling tools such as Control-M, CA and Dynatrace.
• Databases and strong SQL query skills for production investigation.
• Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or similar.
• DevOps and deployment tooling include Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Elastic and Jira.
• Good knowledge of Tibco EMS, Kafka and relevant FX/trading technologies including Broadway, D3, Abacus, DealHub, Bloomberg, FXall, 360T and Reuters/LSEG.
• Strong practical knowledge of the FIX protocol.

AI & Automation Exposure

Exposure to Generative AI / AI-assisted tools used for operational support, troubleshooting, documentation or engineering productivity.

Awareness of AI/ML use cases such as log analysis, incident triage, anomaly detection, monitoring and root-cause analysis.

Ability to use Python and automation frameworks to reduce manual operational activities.

Understanding of the responsible use of AI within a controlled, secure and regulated financial-services environment.

Ability to identify practical opportunities where AI and automation can improve service reliability, operational efficiency and support effectiveness.
