Job summary

Viva, the leading ultra-low-cost airline in the Americas, seeks a Foreign Trade and Shipping Manager in Mexico to lead import/export and domestic/international transportation. You will ensure customs compliance, optimize logistics, and manage teams to strengthen efficiency, traceability, and continuity of operations.

The role requires deep knowledge of Mexican customs laws, SAT regulations, and high-value aviation logistics, along with strong leadership and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• More than five years of experience in foreign trade, logistics, transportation, or related areas.
• At least four years of experience in managerial positions or equivalent leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican Customs Law, SAT regulations, and import/export operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Mexican Customs Law, SAT requirements, and all regulations applicable to import and export operations.
• Lead and coordinate the domestic and international transportation of aviation materials, supplies, equipment, and components.
• Oversee the proper preparation and validation of customs declarations, tariff classifications, customs documentation, and tax payments.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with customs brokers, carriers, bonded warehouses, suppliers, and logistics providers.
• Ensure proper document control, traceability, and record retention for foreign trade audits and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the Foreign Trade, Logistics, and Shipping teams, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of high-demand operations.
• Design and implement performance indicators, controls, and process improvements to optimize costs, response times, and resources.
• Identify regulatory and operational risks and develop preventive strategies to ensure business continuity.

Position: Foreign Trade and Shipping Manager

We are looking for a professional with solid experience in foreign trade and logistics to lead our import, export, and domestic and international transportation operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations, coordinating the timely transportation of aviation materials and components, and developing optimization strategies that strengthen the efficiency, traceability, and continuity of our operations.

• More than five years of experience in foreign trade, logistics, transportation, or related areas.

• Strong knowledge of Mexican Customs Law, SAT regulations, and import and export operations.
• Experience with tariff classification, customs declarations, taxes, and customs documentation.
• Experience managing customs brokers, carriers, bonded warehouses, and logistics providers.
• Experience managing high-volume operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and document management platforms.
• Knowledge of SAP, AMOS, or Pedimento Empresarial is preferred.
• Experience in aviation-component logistics or handling high-value goods is preferred.
• Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency (minimum B2).
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, organizational, analytical-thinking, and results-oriented skills.
