Job summary

Essentra in Apodaca, Mexico, seeks a highly motivated Buyer to manage inbound materials and supplier performance to support production and customer demand. This role drives optimal inventory levels and collaborates with Quality, Customer Service, Product Development, Planning, and Sourcing to maintain a reliable supply chain.

You will coordinate replenishment, negotiate lead times, and maintain ERP data while supporting OTIF targets and NPI material availability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Purchasing, Inventory or Supply Chain.
• Experience with ERP systems (BPCS preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Advanced English required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inventory replenishment to improve inbound OTIF.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability.
• Negotiate lead times and MOQs with suppliers.
• Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems (lead times, pricing, supplier parameters).
• Collaborate with Quality, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Product Development to resolve issues.
• Support NPI by ensuring timely material availability.
• Review forecasts and inventory parameters with planning teams.

Job Description Summary:

Essentra is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in Apodaca, Mexico. The Buyer is responsible for managing inbound supply of materials and products from both external suppliers and intercompany sources to support customer demand and plant operations. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, drives supplier performance, supports on-time delivery objectives, and collaborates cross-functionally with Quality, Customer Service, Product Development, Planning, and Sourcing teams to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Typical Accountabilities:

• Plan and coordinate inventory replenishment activities to improve inbound OTIF performance.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
• Negotiate lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQ) with suppliers.
• Manage inventory investment while maintaining required service levels.
• Collaborate with Quality, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Product Development teams to resolve supply issues.
• Drive effective management of open orders to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Coordinate special and Build-to-Order (BTO) requirements.
• Analyze root causes of OTIF failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introductions (NPI) by ensuring timely material availability.
• Review forecasts and inventory parameters with planning teams.
• Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to improve forecast accuracy.
• Maintain data accuracy within ERP systems and planning tools.
• Manage master data updates including lead times, pricing, and supplier parameters.
• Support reporting automation and data integrity initiatives.
• Participate in internal audits and compliance activities.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience inPurchasing, Inventory Management,Logistics, Import/Export, or Supply Chain.
• Experience working with ERP systems (BPCS preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of MRP planning concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a faste-paced environment.
• High ethical standards and governance awareness.
• Advanced English required.
