Job summary

Essentra is seeking a highly motivated Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in Apodaca, Mexico. The Buyer will manage inbound supply from external and intercompany sources to support demand and plant operations, ensuring optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, expediting POs, and collaborating with Quality, Planning, and Sourcing to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement. Strong English and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Inventory Management, Logistics, Import/Export, or Supply Chain.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Advanced English is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inbound inventory replenishment to meet OTIF targets.
• Negotiate lead times and MOQs with suppliers to maintain material availability.
• Expedite purchase orders and manage open orders to optimize costs and service.
• Collaborate with QA, Planning, and Sales to support NPI and forecast accuracy.
• Maintain ERP master data, pricing, and supplier parameters for data integrity.

Job Description Summary:

Essentra is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in Apodaca, Mexico. The Buyer is responsible for managing inbound supply of materials and products from both external suppliers and intercompany sources to support customer demand and plant operations. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, drives supplier performance, supports on-time delivery objectives, and collaborates cross-functionally with Quality, Customer Service, Product Development, Planning, and Sourcing teams to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Typical Accountabilities:

• Plan and coordinate inventory replenishment activities to improve inbound OTIF performance.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
• Negotiate lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQ) with suppliers.
• Manage inventory investment while maintaining required service levels.
• Collaborate with Quality, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Product Development teams to resolve supply issues.
• Drive effective management of open orders to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Coordinate special and Build-to-Order (BTO) requirements.
• Analyze root causes of OTIF failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introductions (NPI) by ensuring timely material availability.
• Review forecasts and inventory parameters with planning teams.
• Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to improve forecast accuracy.
• Maintain data accuracy within ERP systems and planning tools.
• Manage master data updates including lead times, pricing, and supplier parameters.
• Support reporting automation and data integrity initiatives.
• Participate in internal audits and compliance activities.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience inPurchasing, Inventory Management,Logistics, Import/Export, or Supply Chain.
• Experience working with ERP systems (BPCS preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of MRP planning concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a faste-paced environment.
• High ethical standards and governance awareness.
• Advanced English required.
