Industria Metálica del Envase is seeking a skilled Buyer in Ensenada, Mexico to drive strategic sourcing for materials, tools, and spare parts. You will negotiate prices, coordinate with engineers, and manage contracts and POs to meet cost reduction targets.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, 3 years of buying experience, and fluent English, with strong analytical and communication skills to optimize supplier performance and inventory management.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years' experience as a Buyer.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business performance measures.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with purchasing/inventory systems and reports.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsabilidades

  • Develops strategic sourcing plans and manages sourcing activities for materials, tools and spare parts.
  • Negotiates and establishes prices in support of cost reduction goals.
  • Engages with end users to understand requirements and specifications.
  • Plans and maintains cost reduction plans and tracks savings.
  • Manages contracts and purchase orders; supports cost changes.
  • Coordinates activities to ensure contract compliance and resolution of quality/cost/delivery issues.
  • Develops work instructions and workflow improvements for efficiency.
  • Performs related duties as needed.

Descripción del empleo

Responsibilities
  • Develops strategic sourcing plans and manages sourcing activities for materials, tools and spare parts. Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers in order to recommend the most competitive source for a specified commodity.
  • Negotiates and establishes materials, tools and spare parts prices in support of the department's cost reduction goals. Assists other buyers with complex price negotiations.
  • Engages with end users of assigned materials, tools and spare parts (client groups and/or engineers) to establish understanding of the requirements and specifications of materials, tools and spare parts.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and maintains cost reduction plans for assigned materials, tools and spare parts. Tracks and validates cost savings data.
  • Establishes, executes, and manages contracts for assigned materials, tools and spare parts; issues and maintains purchase orders, and related purchasing records. In collaboration with upper management, manages cost changes for assigned commodities.
  • Coordinates activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure contract compliance and resolution of all major issues dealing with quality, cost, delivery, and design.
  • Supports requests from others for data creation, data confirmation, status updates, and other activities as needed.
  • Develops critical work instructions, procedures, and engages in workflow improvement for the team and/or department to maximize efficiency and coordination or purchasing activities.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3 years' of experience as a Buyer.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Strong computer skills, including purchasing and inventory management systems, programs and reports

  • Knowledge of industry [Pack & Containers] including suppliers, customers, and competitors (add value).
  • Knowledge in SAP - Modules MM & WM-.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
