Confidential Careers is seeking a Lead, Employee Relations, LATAM in Mexico City (hybrid) to provide expert ER guidance across LATAM. You will counsel partners and employees, manage grievances, investigations, and policy interpretation, while ensuring regulatory compliance and fair treatment.

Collaboration with Legal and HR teams is essential to support organizational change, training, and performance initiatives.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in employee relations or HR generalist role focusing on employee relations.
  • Spanish fluency (spoken and written) required; English fluency also required for collaboration with global stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of labor and employment laws applicable to Mexico and LATAM.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to conduct confidential investigations and maintain discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and/or accomplish work through others.

Responsabilidades

  • Counsel employees and business partners on employee relations issues, coaching and policy interpretation.
  • Manage grievance processes, facilitate meetings, and provide resolution recommendations.
  • Conduct confidential investigations with documentation and privacy compliance.
  • Interpret and apply company policies and labor laws to manage risk and promote fair treatment.
  • Develop and deliver training for managers and employees on ER topics.
  • Support performance management and improvement plans with managers.
  • Collaborate on organizational change initiatives including restructurings and acquisitions.
  • Serve as LATAM ER contact, coordinating cross-border matters with HR, Legal and local management.
  • Track ER data with analytics and communicate insights to management for improvements.
  • Collaborate with other COEs on company-wide HR initiatives.
  • Assist with projects and other duties as assigned.

Position Title: Lead, Employee Relations, LATAM

Location: Mexico City, Mexico (hybrid)

Reports To: Director, Employee Relations

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations Counseling. Proactively provide advice and support to business partners, employees and HR colleagues on a broad range of employee relations issues, including performance coaching, positive workplace relations, training and development and policy interpretation.
  • Grievance Management. Manage the grievance process, including facilitating meetings between employees and management and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Investigations. Conduct thorough and confidential internal investigations into employee workplace conduct and policy violations, ensuring consistent documentation of findings, compliance with privacy laws and recommendation of appropriate corrective action.
  • Policy Development & Interpretation. Work closely with Legal colleagues to interpret and apply company policies and labor and employment laws to manage risk, ensure legal compliance and promote fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Training and Development. Develop and deliver training for managers and employees on relevant employee relations and labor relations topics.
  • Performance Management Support. Partner with managers to support employee performance, provide performance coaching, develop improvement plans, address performance concerns and create environments that encourage strong performance.
  • Organizational Structure Support. Work closely with HR and Legal colleagues on the employee relations aspects of organizational change initiatives, including workforce restructurings, reorganizations and acquisitions, consulting with employee representative bodies as required.
  • Mexico/LATAM Employee Relations. Serve as the primary employee relations point of contact for Mexico and the broader LATAM region, coordinating cross-border matters with HR, Legal and local management and applying working knowledge of Mexican and other LATAM labor and employment practices, including the Ley Federal del Trabajo, works councils and union relationships where applicable.
  • Reporting and Analytics. Use employee relations technology effectively and collaborate with Ethics and Compliance and HR Operations to track employee and labor relations data, identify trends and communicate insights to management to support continuous improvement and inform decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Team Collaboration. Partner with other COEs — including Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development and Management — on company-wide initiatives.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Assist with projects and initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in employee relations or an HR generalist role with a focus on employee relations
  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) required; English fluency also required for collaboration with global stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of — or demonstrated ability to quickly learn — labor and employment laws and regulations applicable to Mexico and other LATAM jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to conduct confidential investigations and maintain discretion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and/or accomplish work through others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a multi-country or global workforce, including prior experience working within the LATAM region
  • Portuguese language skills or proficiency in additional languages a plus
  • Background in the consumer goods industry
  • Experience with employee relations software or HR technology platforms
