ENNOVI, a Mobility Electrification Solutions Partner, is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Leader for our facility in Mexico. You will own the EHS management system, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving ISO 14001/45001/50001 initiatives.

You will develop policies, lead incident investigations, manage audits, mentor the EHS team, and collaborate with regional ESG to improve safety and sustainability across the site.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS leadership experience within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican EHS regulations (NOM‑STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA).
  • Experience leading EHS management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead audits (internal and external) and manage certification to ISO14001.
  • Experience leading incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using EHS data to drive decisions and performance improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation of EHS performance to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsabilidades

  • Own and lead the EHS management system at the site, ensuring compliance with local regulations and ISO standards.
  • Serve as the primary EHS authority and advisor to plant leadership.
  • Provide guidance to ensure compliance with EHS policies and national regulations.
  • Develop and manage the site EHS support team, including coaching and performance management.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities (STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, Civil Protection).
  • Lead safety committees and sustainability initiatives to drive culture and engagement.
  • Develop, implement, and improve site-level EHS policies, programs, procedures, and objectives.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics to identify risks and support reporting.
  • Lead risk assessments, PPE assessments, audits, and mitigation planning.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviours for training and scoring accuracy.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives including energy, waste, and water reduction.
  • Lead incident investigations with robust root cause analysis and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate with Global ESG to deploy corporate initiatives at the site.
  • Maintain ISO14001 certifications and serve as site representative for external audits.
  • Lead initiatives to implement ISO45001 and 50001 where applicable.
  • Keep leadership informed of imminent concerns related to events and risks.
  • Develop and deploy EHS training strategy and competency-based training.
  • Drive employee engagement to strengthen safety culture and hazard reporting.
  • Manage EHS budget, resources, and staffing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Own and lead the site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system, ensuring compliance with applicable local regulations, corporate standards and customer requirements (including but not limited to, NOM‑STPS standards, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, Civil Protection, and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 50001).
  • Serve as the primary EHS authority and advisor to plant leadership.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable EHS Policies and national legislations. (Key areas of compliance include hazardous waste management, COA reporting, industrial hygiene programs, Civil Protection, emergency response planning and drills, and emerging regulations).
  • Manage and develop site EHS support team, including performance management and coaching.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, Civil Protection).
  • Drive EHS and Sustainability culture by leading safety committees, promoting employee engagement, and incorporating workforce input into continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve site‑level EHS policies, programs, procedures, and objectives aligned with corporate and regional EHS strategies.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics (incidents, trends, environmental data) to identify risks, drive decision‑making, and support reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead risk management processes including risk assessments, PPE assessments, audits, and mitigation planning to ensure risks are identified, controlled, and continuously improved.
  • Track corrective and preventive action plans escalating as needed when timelines are at risk of not being met.
  • Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviours to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
  • Lead and track sustainability initiatives including energy, waste, and water reduction aligned with corporate ESG objectives.
  • Lead incident investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and timely regulatory and corporate reporting.
  • Collect details of lessons learned and good practices and work with the Global ESG team to develop standard to communicate to all sites.
  • Collaborate with site teams to ensure ISO14001 certifications are successfully maintained. Serve as site representative for external audits.
  • Lead initiative to implement OHS and Energy Management systems compliant with ISO45001 and 50001 respectively, and lead team to seek both certifications.
  • Stay informed and communicate any imminent concerns with local and corporate teams, relating but not limited to major weather events, pandemic or localized outbreak events, and similar localized risks.
  • Develop and deploy EHS training strategy for the site, ensuring competency‑based training, leadership engagement, and compliance tracking.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to strengthen safety culture, promote hazard reporting, and reinforce accountability at all levels of the site.
  • Coordinate with Regional and Global ESG/Sustainability team to deploy corporate initiatives, share best practices, and align site activities with broader sustainability objectives.
  • Manage EHS budget, resources, and staffing to support compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic objectives.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed in support of the overall EHS and Sustainability objectives.
Required Qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS leadership experience within manufacturing, preferably in automotive or maquiladora manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican EHS regulations (NOM‑STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA).
  • Demonstrated experience managing EHS management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead audits (internal and external) and manage certification to ISO14001.
  • Experience leading incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast‑paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using EHS data to drive decisions and performance improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation of EHS performance to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with focus on risk identification and mitigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
